Privacy policy
Draft of 2 October 2026. Not yet in force.
Who we are
Tagwell is a product of Pixedi Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number [COMPANY NUMBER], registered office [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. Pixedi Ltd is registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office, registration number [ICO REG NO].
This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights. It covers two groups: people who use Tagwell to run a card ("customers"), and people who open a Tagwell card ("visitors"). Contact us about privacy at [PRIVACY EMAIL].
Two roles
- Customers' own data (your account, billing, how you use Tagwell): Pixedi Ltd is the controller.
- Data visitors leave on a card (a call back request, shared details, a message): the card owner, or their company, is the controller. We process it only on their instructions, under our Data Processing Agreement. If you left details on someone's card, contact them first. We will help them answer you.
What we collect from customers
- Account: email address, name, workspace name, sign-in records (time and a hash of the session, not your password; we use email sign-in links and codes).
- Card content you publish: name, title, company, phone, email, links, photo or video.
- Billing: plan, seats, billing country, invoices. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers.
- Support messages and the choices you make in Settings.
- If you choose to tell us, your business type, so we can improve Tagwell and, with your separate consent where the law needs it, tell you about Pixedi services.
What we process for visitors
- Visit counts without cookies. When a card opens we record the time, the card, the code used (QR, NFC, link), an approximate city and country from the network, device type, language, the referring site, and taps such as Save or Call. Nothing is written to your device and no IP address is stored. We use this to show the card owner how their card performs, and in aggregate, never about one person, to improve Tagwell.
- Forms you choose to send. If you ask for a call back, share your details or send a message, we pass what you typed to the card owner and keep it for them until they delete it. Your phone number is used only for the call you asked for.
- Privacy signals. We honour Global Privacy Control. We do not sell or share visitor data, and we never email card visitors ourselves.
We do not use device fingerprinting, cross-site tracking, tools that identify people from their IP address, or biometrics.
Why we use it (UK GDPR lawful bases)
- To run your account and cards: contract.
- Billing records: legal obligation (we keep them 6 years for HMRC).
- Cookieless visit counts and security logs: legitimate interests. You can object at any time.
- Marketing emails from Pixedi: consent where required. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers listed on our subprocessors page, under contracts that protect your data. Some of them process data in the United States. Those transfers rely on the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
- Leads and call back requests: until the card owner deletes them or closes their account.
- Account data: deleted within 30 days after you delete your account.
- Billing records: 6 years.
- Visit counts: kept as daily totals; detail is limited by plan (30 days on Free, 1 year on paid plans).
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and take it with you. Customers can export and delete everything from Settings. Visitors should contact the card owner; we will help them. We answer within one month. You can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
US residents: we do not sell or share personal information and we honour Global Privacy Control signals. You can ask what we hold and ask us to delete it.
Children
Tagwell accounts are for people aged 18 or over. Cards are not directed at children.
Changes
We will post changes here and email customers about important ones before they take effect.
